So after a couple of chats with the consultant who was very sensible (once she had realised we were not complaining about anything) the C – Section date has moved. Only by 2 days though.
The new NICE CG129 (see original Google Doctors post) has been introduced as some hospitals were recommending delivery earlier than 36 weeks for identical twins. In some cases as early as 34 weeks. On the available evidence this has apparently been shown to present some risks to the babies that diminish if they are delivered a week or two later.
This is why CG129 very particularly states the procedure is intended for monochorionic pregnancies that have not had any major complications.
Once again always good to talk to the professionals. It’s just a shame that it took 5 days to get some more information and not 0.005 seconds!
